How beautiful is Panama
For fact lovers: The Panama-Canal is the most important trading route between the atlantic and the pacific ocean, and saves the ships about 20.000 km! Panama connects as a natural land-bridge central and south america. It is bordered by Costa Rica and Columbia. Within 20 minutes you`ll experience a travel time of about 200 years: Panama City, ultramodern with more sky scrapers than New York City and extraordinary architectural buildings.
Beyond the city you`ll experience a more slow paced, rural lifestyle and many more indigenous people. The official currency is Balboa, but it is connected 1:1 to US $. So now worries, you can pay everything in US $. Official language is spanish, english is commonly not spoken. The tropical climate only distinguishes between dry and rainy season, resulting in a bewitchingly beautiful fauna and flora. Nevertheless, holidays during the rainy season are also highly recommendable, because it usually rains up to an hour and then the sun shines again. The fascinating fauna hosts, between others, tapirs, spider monkeys, ozelots, toucans, sloths, hummingbirds, ant-eaters… The most important airport is Tocumen Int. Airport in Panama City. The airport Enrique Malek in David is about 1 hour from Las Lajas and mostly operated by Copa Airlines.
Chiriqui and Las Lajas
Las Lajas in the province of Chiriqui is a quaint village, offering the panamenian cordiality.
Whereas locals ride their horses to their ranch, whereas farmers offer fresh harvested fruits, whereas you toast yourself on the beach with your Balboa-beer.
On the magnificent beach of about 20 km you`ll always find a lonely spot, can ride the waves with rented surfboards, enjoy a cocktail and admire the sensational sunset.
Las Lajas is perfectly located for many day-tours.
